What if you lived in a world where you could write your own future?

In Taeopia, there are two groups of people: The Decided and Undecided.

The Decided live a privileged life, knowing all their dreams will come true.

The Undecided live a life of uncertainty, for them the future is unwritten.

Every teenager, whether born into the Decided or Undecided, have the opportunity to choose their fate by writing a Life Plan, detailing the events of their future lives. Opal has known what she’s wanted out of life for as long as she can remember. Garrett, only days away from Submission Day has yet to write a single word of his Life Plan. Friends since childhood, Opal fears losing her best friend to the Undecided. Rather than cave to the pressure of society to write his Plan, Garrett begins to question the entire Life Plan system itself. His curiosity leads him down a trail of ever-increasing secrets surrounding his world. Yet time is running out and Garrett must make a decision before it’s too late.

New Exclusive Blog Post – Reality vs. Fiction: Animals at Depth

Hey Everyone!

This week, I am highlighting some of the liberties I took with the sea creatures in Shark Station and used the current gaps in knowledge in marine science to create an engaging and exciting storyline with a variety of sea creatures. Now, don’t freak out! I still kept the level of scientific accuracy in my Shark Station as I did in the other Oceania novels. I just stretched some of the potential capabilities of sea creatures that still have a lot of needed observational studies to determine more about their behavior. Read the blog post to find out more.

New Exclusive Blog Post – Tour of the Depths

Hey Everyone!

I have a different type of blog post for you this week and I’m really excited to share with you. If you read my acknowledgments page for Shark Station, you may have heard me do a shout out to my favorite VR game Ocean Rift. I spent a lot of time before writing Shark Station playing this VR game and I came to realize some of the emotions Allie may be feeling when she’s underwater. The amazing thing about Ocean Rift (partly because it’s a VR game) is that it puts you under the sea in a way that wouldn’t be possible for most of us. In-game, you have the opportunity to swim with sharks outside a cage, with blue whales, humpback whales, a giant squid (although I still haven’t encountered it in-game yet), sea turtles, manatees, orcas, beluga whales, and many other species. As I would float in the blue waiting for something to appear, I thought of the many times Allie had been through that. It sounds ridiculous because I was in a game, but I felt both apprehension in what could materialize and excitement. One of the special opportunities the game has that I could never get outside of it was the ability to swim in the deep sea without a submersible. I was able to go around just like Allie and her friends did at the bottom of the Marianna Trench. So today, I’m sharing with you some of the video footage I took in-game before I ever wrote Shark Station. When I realized I wanted to do this blog post, I took a lot more wonderful footage just to find out the files were corrupted and unreadable by my computer. So the footage isn’t the perfect visage I wanted to share, but I still edited it and kept the best parts from the footage I’d taken months before. So without further monologuing from me, you can click the link below to be sent directly to the blog to watch the video:

New Exclusive Blog Post – Shark Station Dining Menu

Hey Everyone!

For the blog post this week, I’ll be sharing with you some of the kinds of meals Allie and Dylan would have had while staying on Shark Station. Some of it may be familiar to you and some of it may sound gross, but it’s a sampling of the cuisine, not an entire comprehensive list. Still, I hope you enjoy it.
