New Exclusive Blog Post – Character Profile and Interview: Brodie

Hey Everyone!

The time has come for the character profiles and interviews for Terra Sea Merge! For this novel, I’ve changed things up a bit. Instead of putting the character profiles and interviews together in one blog post, I’ve split it between my blog and the website. Why? Because I wanted to ask questions of the exchange students that would give away key plot points of the novel. I felt like the questions and their responses would be more interesting if they related more closely to the plot of the story instead of leaving it to general questions. To access the interview part of the post, you’ll have to enter a password that will come from a line in the novel.

To read the interview portion, you can click here and for the password, enter the first word in chapter 9 of Terra Sea Merge.

Hey Everyone!

The post on the sea creatures featured in Terra Sea Merge has just been released! Since most of the animals featured are repeats from previous novels, there is only one new one to Terra Sea Merge. However, this one is a special and rare creature of the deep, so I hope you enjoy reading and learning about it!

New Exclusive Blog Post – Tour of the Depths

Hey Everyone!

I have a different type of blog post for you this week and I’m really excited to share with you. If you read my acknowledgments page for Shark Station, you may have heard me do a shout out to my favorite VR game Ocean Rift. I spent a lot of time before writing Shark Station playing this VR game and I came to realize some of the emotions Allie may be feeling when she’s underwater. The amazing thing about Ocean Rift (partly because it’s a VR game) is that it puts you under the sea in a way that wouldn’t be possible for most of us. In-game, you have the opportunity to swim with sharks outside a cage, with blue whales, humpback whales, a giant squid (although I still haven’t encountered it in-game yet), sea turtles, manatees, orcas, beluga whales, and many other species. As I would float in the blue waiting for something to appear, I thought of the many times Allie had been through that. It sounds ridiculous because I was in a game, but I felt both apprehension in what could materialize and excitement. One of the special opportunities the game has that I could never get outside of it was the ability to swim in the deep sea without a submersible. I was able to go around just like Allie and her friends did at the bottom of the Marianna Trench. So today, I’m sharing with you some of the video footage I took in-game before I ever wrote Shark Station. When I realized I wanted to do this blog post, I took a lot more wonderful footage just to find out the files were corrupted and unreadable by my computer. So the footage isn’t the perfect visage I wanted to share, but I still edited it and kept the best parts from the footage I’d taken months before. So without further monologuing from me, you can click the link below to be sent directly to the blog to watch the video:

New Exclusive Blog Post – Shark Station Dining Menu

Hey Everyone!

For the blog post this week, I’ll be sharing with you some of the kinds of meals Allie and Dylan would have had while staying on Shark Station. Some of it may be familiar to you and some of it may sound gross, but it’s a sampling of the cuisine, not an entire comprehensive list. Still, I hope you enjoy it.
